Maldives has been awarded The World's Leading Destination Award at the grand final of the World Travel Awards 2020. This is the first time the Maldives won the most distinguished award category of the World Travel Awards.
Ambassador Mohamed Jinah today presented his letters of credence to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. The ceremony took place at Ambara Villa, Dusit Palace, Bangkok.
Ms Huda Ali Shareef, Deputy Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Maldives to UNESCAP, met with the Director, teachers and some students of Sukothai Vocational College, Sukothai, on 24 October 2020. At the meeting, views were exchanged in preparation for the upcoming 10th Celebration of Silk, Thailand, scheduled for later this year.
Maldives participated in the 6th Session of UNESCAP Session on Social Development. At the session, the Maldives' Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, Ms Huda Ali Shareef, highlighted the need to strengthen data collection, management and dissemination mechanism is the region.
Ambassador Jinah paid a courtesy call on Sheikh Aziz Phitakkumpon, the Sheikhul Islam and the President of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand on 15 October 2020. During the call Ambassador Jinah and the Sheikh discussed issues of interest.
