Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy Ms Huda Shareef met with the President of Chulalongkorn University Prof Bundhit Euaarporn and deans of faculties of the university on 31 July 2019. At the meeting, discussions were held regarding areas for cooperation including public health, nursing, medical science and training opportunities for Maldivian students.
Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Director South Asia & Central Asia Division of Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 28 July 2019. The meeting focused on bilateral issues and enhancing cooperation between Thailand and Maldives. The meeting took place at the Thai Foreign Ministry.
Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy, Ms Huda Shareef met with Dr Andrew Scown, President of Stamford International University on 25 July 2019. The meeting took place at Stamford University and focused on exploring opportunities for Maldivian students at the University. During the visit to Stamford, CDA and Mr Hussain Shareef, Second Secretary, met with Maldivian students studying at the University to inquire whether they needed any assistance from the Embassy.
The 75th session of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) was held in Bangkok from 27 to 31 May 2019 at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok. Maldives was represented at the meeting by Ms Huda A Shareef, Chargee d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Maldives in Thailand. Ms Huda Shareef presented the country statement of The Maldives at the session. She stressed the importance of ensuring that socioeconomic development focuses on empowering the marginalised segments of society.
Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Maldives Embassy in Thailand, Ms Huda Shareef, attended the opening ceremony of the 34th ASEAN Summit held on 23 June 2019 in Bangkok Thailand. The theme of the summit was Advancing Partnership for Sustainability.
